Composer

Stacy Chambers - 2008
Stacy Chambers graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Composition in 1999. Since then, she has composed for small and large ensembles, and is currently composing her first symphony, a piece inspired by Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes.
Stacy began teaching in the Dallas area, where she lived for three and a half years. Two years were spent at the esteemed Dallas School of Music. After re-locating to the Chicago area, she continued teaching and composing. She has taught hundreds of students on six instruments (piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and guitar) and has performed in small ensembles, theatre, and orchestras. She teaches both at her home studio and around Chicago. Her theatre work includes playing bass in Gershwin's Crazy for You and Richard Rogers's Two By Two with the Fort Wayne Civic Theater.
Stacy met Stephanie Book in 2005, and the two quickly became friends. She soon became involved in the project Lion in the Street as its composer. Initially drawn to David's story because of his will to survive as an artist, she slowly identified with David as she learned more about his life story and his growth as a human being. This will be her debut film score.
Stacy has also been accepted into Columbia College's graduate Music Composition for the Screen program, for which she will begin studies in the Fall of 2008. Additionally, she is in the process of launching her own music publishing company, Articulo Press.
